Like precious gemstones, Soulstones are graded on quality. Only the highest grade Soulstones are suitable as sorcerer aids. Lesser grades of Soulstone are used in alchemical reactions, medical tinctures, exotic wines, and even designer perfumes.

A typical Soulstone is milky white in colour, but a wide assortment of variations form naturally. Impurities in the stone can provide for various shades as well as differing magical properties. One of the most famous Soulstones is known as the Gorgon’s Tear. This large stone is bright green in colour and reportedly possesses properties quite unlike typical Soulstones.
