Marcus is one of few who have identified the inherent strengths of these creatures and has made a concerted effort in bending these beasts into the service of the Arcanist cause.
Beyond taming these beasts, Marcus has pioneered a brand of sorcery that allows him to cultivate the most desirable traits in a specimen. This technique, known now as Chimerancy, results in very specialised creatures and has given form to the most unnatural monsters.
As a relatively new science, Marcus treads carefully, but the products of his experiments have yielded dramatic results. When Arcanists clash with their rivals in the wilderness, beyond the borders of 0. To be Organised/Malifaux, they will often use these fantastic creatures. With thick hides or hard scales, many of these creatures are all but bulletproof. With terrible speed and ferocity, they can bring tooth and claw to bear before a shot is even fired.
As this science progresses, the wilderness becomes an armoury for the Arcanist cause. The most terrible beasts have the potential to become the most terrible weapons in a war for control that is bloodier, every day.
