Bad Juju, Mire Golem
Translation of texts found in the various libraries of 0. To be Organised/Malifaux is a slow and tedious task and remains fraught with errors and omissions. Too often these errors convince the translators what they are reading can only be legends and folklore, only to discover the legends really do bite back. The Mire Golem is one such legend, an eternal thing of mud, moss, and tree wandering the Bayou for all time. About its mucky neck dangles a tiny whittled figure of a man, a representation of the soul trapped in the mass of animated swamp. Imprisoned in this form, the man, whose name is lost to time, sought to trick a powerful sorcerer with false payment. As punishment, he was cursed to wander the Bayou in service to the Neverborn for eternity and trapped him in the Mire Golem’s form. Even destruction of the Golem will not end his torment, as it reforms from the Bayou’s muck and mire and resumes its ceaseless wandering.
